The  kickoff scene would be when Fitzwilliam Darcy chooses  non to  jump with Elizabeth at the  world because is tolerable, but not handsome  full to tempt [him]. (19) It is rumored that Darcy is a man of 10,000 pounds,  hence making it reasonable for him not to be seen associating with Elizabeth because of her lower   companionable status and because she is not pretty enough to catch Darcys attention. Another depiction of pride would be when Darcy first declares that [his] feelings [must] not be repressed (170) and that [he] admires and loves [Elizabeth], (170) but Elizabeth  freehearted rejects his proposal because of her pride. Darcys proposal dwelled upon Elizabeths lower social status and how Darcy wish [Elizabeth] against [his] will, against [his] reason, and even against [his] ch   aracter. (171) Despite Darcys high reputation, Elizabeths pride is what  do her reject Darcy because of how proud he was of himself and how he looked down upon Elizabeth.     Prejudice         As the novel progresses on, another prevailing theme, aside from pride, is prejudice. During the ball, Elizabeth  right  aside depicts prejudice towards Darcy.
